Hey Reader, Somehow I am already halfway through my training phase—how is that even possible? Although I can't slow time down, I can share some of the sweetness that I have experienced these past weeks. Open House WeekendEarlier this month, MAPS hosted an Open House Weekend where people from all over could come experience the school and program first hand. It was a joy to host both my parents and Jess over those days. The time I had with each of them was so precious and timely. Having them here made this place feel even more like home. Reflecting on these past weeksOne of the greatest gifts from the LORD in this season has been the ability to slow down and be fully present with Him. This spiritual community is like a greenhouse where the LORD has planted me, nurturing me to grow into an Isaiah 61:3 "oak of righteousness" for His glory. This season of leaning and abiding has allowed the poems and songs I didn't know were inside to come out, perfectly formed by the south winds of Jesus’ leadership (Song 4:16). Here is a poem I wrote on the house of prayer here at MAPS: Inspiring QuoteThis week's inspiring quotable comes from one of our book reads, The Glory of Christ, a book by the Puritan theologian John Owen. Reader, this is my prayer for you—that you would begin walking in the paradise of God through Christ's love, and that together, on mission, we can bring those who don't know Him into it as well. I'm so grateful to the Lord for these weeks of rest, experiencing both His delight and the love of those around me. I hope that you had an life-giving and joyful holiday too! AWAKE Advent Evening! I had been waiting months for this Awake worship night reunion. What a joy to reunite...
Hey Reader, My final week of training in Richmond is wrapping up quickly before I head home for Christmas. The Wonder of the Word My heart has been ignited over the last weeks in the Scriptures. The promise we read of in Psalm 119:32 has been so true for me! I will run the course of Your commandments, for You shall enlarge my heart.Psalm 119:32 Last week at MAPS, I was assigned Micah 4:1-5 for a 20-minute sermon. As I studied this passage, my heart burned within me as the Lord brought greater...
